Interesting facts about Cheetah

The cheetah is the fastest land animal in the world.  Cheetah can run at speeds of 70 miles per hour. The cheetah is the most primitive of the cat family and it has been in evolution from 18 million years ago.  The life span of a cheetah is between 10 to 15 years.  Here are some interesting facts about cheetah.
  • The female cheetah catches live prey for their cubs to use as hunting practice.
  • The cheetah was trained by man for hunting before 3000 BC.
  • From standstill position, a cheetah can reach its top speed within 3 seconds. 
  • A cheetah does not need to drink water, because it gets the moisture from the bodies of its prey.
  • Cheetahs are the only cats, which can turn in mid air while sprinting to follow their prey.
